Blue Door Gallery invited Artist-Curators Arlé
Sklar-Weinstein, of Hastings on Hudson, NY and GG Kopilak
of
Valhalla, NY to design an
exhibition for Women's History Month. They arrived at an all inclusive
theme called: Women about Woman, A BROAD
Introspective Retrospective.
Women's History Month in March celebrates women's significant
contributions in all fields of endeavors, including the creative arts.
From an open call to women artists, the curators selected work in a
variety of media, addressing a fascinating range of personal issues.
While many regional artist studio visits were made to select particular
works to create the exhibit's conversation, images arrived from artists
in California, Florida, PA, NJ, CT and upstate NY.
The exhibition will represent 20 women artists and will include
sculptures, paintings, collages, assemblage with found objects, book
