"Blue Door Takes Off"
Grand Opening of the
Blue Door Gallery
Saturday, March 28, 2:00-5:00pm



The Blue Door Gallery, a project of the Blue Door Artist Association, opens its doors for the Inaugural Exhibition and Celebration at 13 Riverdale Avenue, south of Main Street in Yonkers, NY.  At 2pm, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by a reception for the artists. The Interval Trio of New Haven will be performing.

Two prominent jurors are making the selection of outstanding artwork:
Richard Haas, international muralist, painter, printmaker and teacher of Yonkers, and
Sandra Sider, Ph.D., fiber artist, critic, curator and art historian of NYC.

The exhibition will be open from March 28th through May 9th, 2009,  Wednesdays through Saturdays, noon until 5:00pm. Mark your calendars for an enticing Artists' WALK n TALK program on Saturday, April 18th at 2 pm.

Artist Opportunity


CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Blue Door Artist Association is looking for artists to display their work in our upcoming exhibition commemorating the discovery of the Hudson River. We are looking for images that depict the river both in fact and as metaphor. The exhibition will take place in the Yonkers Riverfront Library in October.

The  Blue Door Artist Association, in collaboration with the Yonkers Board of Education, is exhibiting more than 100 photographs that have been taken by children of all ages. The images show the places and people of Yonkers.

A panel of professional photographers has selected winners of prizes that will be awarded at a special reception at the library on March 5 at 3:00.

Exhibition
at Westchester Arts
Council



Four of Luis Perelman's 'Quilt Collages' will be in the exhibition "Hanging by a Thread" at the Westchester Arts Council Exhibition, 31 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, 10601.  The opening reception is Thursday, March 19th from 6:00 to 8:00pm.  The exhibition runs from March 20th to May 5th.

On March 23, Arlé Sklar-Weinstein, Blue Door Gallery Coordinator, will appear with Peter X Kelly, Chef/Owner of X20 Xaviers on the Hudson in Yonkers, on Radio VOX to discuss the creation of the new Blue Door Gallery and Arts Center and how it provides another dimension to the accomplishments of Peter X Kelly in energizing Downtown Yonkers as a stimulating destination.
