Greetings!

Happy Summer! In this edition of The Neat Sheet read my quick tip for remembering the sunscreen. Also check out what's new on the That's Neat! Blog. And for parents, I share my goal and strategy of trying to plan ahead more.

I also am excited to announce that I've earned a Certificate of Study in Chronic Disorganization from the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization. I'm pursuing continuing education in chronic disorganization and ADD to better support my clients.

Best,
Elizabeth
Forget it...or label it
sun labelI've been trying to remember to put sunscreen on my daughter before she heads out each day. We've left the sunscreen on a shelf by the front door, and we often remember...but there are many hectic mornings when we forget. With the weather getting hotter I wanted to have a reminder for myself.

So I did what I would tell my clients to do: label it! I made a reminder that hangs on a door knob in a fun sun shape. (A post-it note would work just as well.) I made one for the front door and the back door, and now we never forget!
What's New and Neat on the Blog?
In the last Neat Sheet, I suggested it was a great time of year to de-clutter  your attic or basement. I've been taking my own advice and trying to work on my attic. Read about my "great" labelling system and what I found in this blog post.

You'll also find posts about end of school organizing projects, getting ready for camp, and holding a yard sale.

Especially For Parents: Planning to Plan
Just as I was patting myself on the back for getting all the summer camp plans lined up, I heard from several moms that they were planning fall activities for their kids. Fall - yikes!

I learn a lot from parents who have kids older than I do, so I listened. While I may not be planning dance classes or fall soccer yet, it did make me start to think about Janna's blog post about organizing a quarter ahead. I haven't quite mastered thinking that far ahead, but it is a goal to work towards, because then I might not feel so behind the curve and chaotic.

To keep my focus ahead I put up a dry erase board with my projects/goals for the quarter. This keeps them front and center. I also have set some electronic reminders in my phone as deadlines for projects or making decisions (like fall sports). I'll let you know how I'm coming along with this, and please email me your tips for planning ahead!
