Rounding up clutter and disorganization in the Lone Star State

Howdy Folks!

Geez, 'ol Hurricane Ike blew  in and the resulting destruction caught a few of us by surprise, didn't it?  I know I learned alot about what I'm going to have a large supply of next time - (mostly a bin full of C & D batteries!).  Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who had damage and are in the process of rebuilding.

Being without power for only 5 days,  I know I was luckier than most.  Yes, I was prepared with batteries, water, food, and flashlights.  What I wasn't prepared for was all the quiet time.
No TV, no internet, no laptop, no ipod, and limited cell phone.  And you know what?  I enjoyed the quiet time. I got to spend real quality time with family and friends.

It's always calming to be prepared, and with the holidays just around the corner the time to start is NOW.  Follow the timeline in the attached article and enjoy stress-free holidays!

Happy Trails!  (uncluttered ones, of course!)

TESTIMONIES

Testimony

"Clutter and organizational chaos can impact productivity in an office worse than anything else.  It can be an extraordinary burden and finding the "right place to start" can be overwhelming.   It was so overwhelming for me I procrastinated making the first step to organization, and it only gets worse.
The amount of time wasted while trying to find something is not only embarrassing but very costly.  Through my coaching from  Adonna I got a renewed sense of the importance of calm in my office and a PLAN to achieve it.  With Adonna I felt like I was in capable, qualified hands and that all I had to do was follow her plan.  She gave me the process in bite size pieces that made it manageable and effective.  She consistently followed up and made recommendations that were precisely what I needed to hear and upon following her advice I was very happy with the results.  It was like a major burden in my life was lifted.  I keep her notes to me in a handy place so that I can refer back as needed.  For me Clutter Roundup did as they advertise  - Created Calm out of Chaos!  Adonna is a real pro and I am certain than I will continue to use her expertise!  She has a gift!  And it is a gift so many of us are without!

You are the greatest!

QUICK TIP

Bright idea

Declare one day in the spring and fall as "donation days."  Make a note now in your daily planner or calendar.

On self-proclaimed donation days rummage through your home looking for things that are just taking up space in your closets, attics, or garages, things you can donate.  Box or bag them up and take them to a local mission or charity.

Get a head start for the Holidays!

Every year I hear people saying, "Next year, I'm not going to WAIT until the last minute to get ready for the holidays".  Well, now is the time to get that jump start and to help you get off to a great START here is a simple timeline.  I realize it starts in August, but it's not too late to catch up!

IN EARLY AUGUST
Set up a holiday GIFT IDEA FILE.  Use a separate page or folder for each person on your list and start clipping catalog pages, pictures from magazines, and Sunday newspaper inserts.

IN LATE AUGUST
Update your holiday card MAILING LIST.  Decide what kind of and how many cards you'll want this year.  And if you include an annual letter with your holiday cards, start writing it now while most of the things that have happened this year are still fresh in your mind.  Then you can simply add to or edit the letter each month until it's time to mail them.

IN SEPTEMBER
Start ordering gifts, especially ones that require special touches or are going overseas.  Then order your cards if you have them professionally printed.  Get PICTURES taken if you include a family photo with your cards.

IN EARLY OCTOBER
Finish ORDERING your gifts.  Complete any catalog or online holiday ordering now before the November rush.  Purchase holiday stamps for the cards, labels for the computer, and holiday pocket cards for cash gifts.  Either make your holiday LABELS now or start addressing envelopes.  If you do five or seven a week starting now, you'll be done before you know it.

IN LATE OCTOBER
Then, decide where you will be spending the holidays and make arrangements.  If it's at home, set up your menu and decoration plans.  It it's away, double-check school SCHEDULES that may conflict with your travel plans.

IN EARLY NOVEMBER
Order any special gift CERTIFICATES you want to give.  Send all of your overseas gifts before Thanksgiving.  Start sending all of your domestic gifts immediately after Thanksgiving.

BEFORE THANKSGIVING
Complete the rest of your HOLIDAY CARDS by the end of the month.  Proofread your holiday letter one last time, print and insert into cards, mail.  Decorate the house.  Shop for any FOOD STAPLES or kitchen supplies you need before December 1st.

AT THE START OF DECEMBER
Then, schedule a pre-Holiday massage or something special to DE-STRESS, and pat yourself on the back for actually getting ahead this year.  May the Joys of the Season be with you every day!
