The above photo shows the new Summit County Health Department Building entryway and the second floor wing that will house The People's Health Clinic. Clinic Staff toured the building a few weeks ago and were delighted by the sense of space! Exam rooms twice the size of our current ones, a large providers' office with lots of room for writing charts and consulting and a very professional clinic waiting room.See for Yourself! Greetings!
It's all about VOLUNTEERS this month - how much we love them and how happily we welcome new ones! Each patient who sees a provider at PHC comes into contact with at least one, and sometimes three or four, volunteers during his or her visit. It may be the provider, a receptionist, a vitals taker, a phlebotomist (for a blood draw) and/or a translator. Here's to you all! The Clinic could not serve the uninsured without you!

PHC WANTS YOU! If you are a medical provider with time to give to community health care, we would welcome you at PHC.
Some providers come regularly once a week; others in sub-specialty areas may come once every month to six weeks. And, of course, we always welcome translators, vitals takers, phlebotomists (you know who you are) and receptionists. And fundraisers! And people to provide meals for volunteers! And tech people! To fill any of these roles, please contact Office Manager, Nina Chartrand by email at nina@phcpc.org or by phone at (435) 615-7822 ext. 4. (or click the link below to learn more about volunteering)
OR - Attend a volunteer orientation on Wednesday, May 13 at 6 pm at the Clinic. These one-hour sessions are for current and new volunteers, and cover Clinic operations, volunteer roles and future plans. Thanks to presenters Deb Melle & Dianne Walker, we can all be knowledgeable volunteers as well as good ambassadors for PHC!
P.S. Refreshments served!

Krista Clark Adds Physical Therapy to PHC's Growing Services

PHC medical providers welcome each new specialty volunteer provider - it opens up more clinical options and cost effective treatments for their patients. Krista Clark is a great example: the owner of Wellspring Physical Therapy in Midway has been treating Clinic patients every Tuesday evening for over eight months now.
She's glad for the opportunity to volunteer and share her skills. "Proper and swift treatment after an injury can make all the difference in a person's livelihood. I recently saw a woman, a self-employed housekeeper, who had fallen off a stool while cleaning a mirror. While she badly injured her shoulder, three treatments made her pain and strength improve so she was able to continue working and supporting her family."
Krista encourages other physical therapists in the area to join PHC's volunteer corps.
