Clinic to Move in July!!

The Yard at Kearns Boulevard
No - the new building at Quinn's Junction did not magically appear. PHC will be moving to an interim space for the next year or so - necessitated by our tremendous growth in patient visits!
With the cooperation and help of Mark Fischer, local developer and long-time PHC supporter, the Clinic has obtained space at The Yard, in the former Anderson Lumber Building. Mr. Fischer, owner of The Yard, has generously underwritten a portion of the rent.
This new space will provide the Clinic with more exam room space. More importantly, we will have greater flexibility in our operations so we can begin to move toward the Clinic model we will be adopting in the new building - longer hours and more services.
The Board of Directors and Clinic staff want to give a special thanks to Mary and Charlie Wintzer of Wintzer-Wolfe Enterprises for their big-heartedness in discounting the Clinic's rent on Ironhorse Drive for the past several years. We have been so blessed by such community-minded citizens!
Look for an announcement of our Open House in July!
(And note our request below for volunteer help)

Greetings!
We start a new feature in this month's newsletter: a coupon from one of our Restaurant Partners! These businesses give yearly to support the Clinic that cares for their employees. Each month we will feature a different partner and we hope you'll take advantage of a good deal. If you get a chance while dining, thank your server, the manager, or the owner for their community-mindedness!
Here is Rick Anderson, owner of this month's partner, The Eating Establishment:
"We want to thank People's Health for the service it provides to the community, and especially to the restaurants, by making health care available to all!"
Look for the coupon at the bottom of the page!
To become a Restaurant Partner, call Sarah at 513-0551.

PHC Welcomes New Development Director, Nann Worel
When several Clinic staffers first met Nann Worel, they could hardly believe their luck...................... Here was a new Park City transplant from Mobile, Alabama who had participated in founding and managing a successful clinic for uninsured residents there. She had two Master's degrees, one in Nursing and one in Hospital Administration, and had worked as Director of Women's Services at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. And she wanted to learn about and volunteer at People's Health!! It just so happened that, at the time, the Board of Directors was looking for a part-time Development Director to assist in the Clinic's growth into the new building and the expanded services our community needs. What a match! Little did Nann know what her volunteering efforts would turn into. Nann will be assisted by part-time staff Terry Moffitt, Terry Loboschefsky, and Sarah Klingenstein. The Clinic feels lucky to have Nann and all her experience, motivation and winning personality on board. Says Nann, "I have so much respect for what the People's Health Clinic has meant to this community for years, and I'm very excited about its future growth!" |

Park City Councilwoman & PHC Supporter - Candy Erickson
After her re-election to Council last fall, Candy donated her remaining campaign funds to People's Health.
"I remember being a ski industry worker in my early years here, with no health insurance. Luckily the worst health problem I had in those years was a broken arm. Recently I've had more serious health problems and I can't imagine how I would have made it through."
"People's Health has become a haven for a huge number of people. Not only does it serve seasonal workers and their families, but so many others - including divorced women whose husbands took the health insurance with them in the breakup or older workers who are having more health problems but haven't yet qualified for Medicare."
"The People's Health Clinic is a non-profit that addresses the critical basic needs of our community"
