Bay View Ready to Razzle and Dazzle Again!

---

This year's event includes "Leading Ladies",
Area Restaurants and more!

RIVERSIDE, RI - APRIL 13, 2010:

"A
s I try my best to seize this moment and enjoy each and every rehearsal without considering the reality of performing my last Cabaret show, I marvel at how quickly the show comes together," said Maye, high school senior and Bay View Player.

This year's cabaret show, Leading Ladies, will highlight the amazing contributions of the most famous women throughout the course of history. The intricately designed set depicting an industrial modern factory serves as the backdrop for a metamorphic dream sequence that will lead the audience through the ages and through the lives of our amazing leading ladies.

Maye continues "this past week the costume room was bustling with girls trying on frilly dresses and racks filled with fancy evening gowns. The dancers worked on several new, snappy routines. The singers sang their way through 30 some-odd songs. The boys (from area high schools) even tried their hand...or rather their feet, at dancing!  This is Cabaret at its best; this is when the magic happens."

This year's magic is being masterfully and creatively arranged, choreographed and conceptualized on Bay View's Riverside campus by an award winning production team lead by Christine D. Kavanagh.

For the past 26 years, faithful fans and as well as newcomers have been amazed that a local high school can present a Broadway quality production.  "Once the actual performance begins, it is always immediately clear that Bay View has a disproportionate amount of talent for one high school" writes Kimberley Harper of the East Providence Post.

"There are a few things that can go without saying when one attends Manhattan at the Bay,  Bay View Academy's annual cabaret and biggest fundraising event. There's going to be an abundance of food, drink and dessert (including the best cheesecake I've ever had - I wish I had asked who had donated it) for partaking before the show" Harper continues.

New this year is Bay View Times Square located in the Wellness Center.  The Wellness Center will be transformed into a bustling street festival complete with food and entertainment.
