Anne's Answers
As the owner of the premier event planning business in the region, I get a lot of questions from friends and colleagues asking how to have a beautiful event at a reasonable price. With that in mind, in this section of this newsletter, I'd like to share one or two easy tips to save you money when planning your next event!

1. Ask your event planner to use hotel linens for underlays for your event as they are generally free.

2. For Spousal Programs - Entertain  spouses during your next corporate meeting with a floral design and centerpiece workshop.  After the workshop ends, you may use the centerpieces at your dinner that evening.

President's Message

ADME

Welcome to our inaugural issue of  (Tah-Dah!) Destination Planning Corporation E-News: Extraordinary Events Every time.  We're so excited to have just celebrated our 4th year anniversary!

I started Destination Planning Corporation (DPC) in April 2004 at my dining room table.  My tools were my home phone and a laptop.  My Chief of Security was my 7-pound chihuahua.

At 9 a.m. on that first day of business, my phone rang with my first client on the other end.  It was Kathy Davis with Piper Rudnick Law Firm calling to ask me to plan and manage an event for 500 attorneys who would arrive for their event at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort in 4 weeks from the day of the call.  No problem!

My phone has been ringing off the hook from that day until now.  Since that first call, we've planned spectacular Superbowl 2005 events and have worked with some of the top corporations in the nation,  including:  MCI, Coca Cola, Reebok, Nike, Frito Lay, Shell Oil, FedEx, UPS, Daytona 500 events and numerous other Fortune 500 events.  We've provided services ranging from transportation, tours and activities, hospitality staffing and even decor.

Four years later, we've grown to a staff of fifteen with offices in Jacksonville and Orlando.  As Destination Florida specialists, we work with meeting planners from around the country who wish to host meetings and/or events in Florida.   Best known for our decor expertise with experienced designers on staff, we are the area's premier resource - we are, in fact, the ONLY event resource you need
.

Over 800 groups and 5 million dollars in gross sales later, we embrace the future and expect continued growth and satisfied clients.

In these monthly newsletters, we'll share news about our partnerships, details about our creative events and we'll give you tips every month that will help you when you're planning your next reception, party or meeting.

Thank you sincerely to all of our clients and friends for your continued support!

Warmly,

Anne Urban and the DPC staff

Spectacular, Wonderful, Amazing

DPCWEBThis has been a fabulous year for creative events
!

We've already planned a myriad of unique, magnificent events during the first quarter of 2008 for a long list of satisfied, happy clients.

DPC event highlights include  a weekend community celebration for the opening of  a medical facility expansion in Jacksonville, Florida.  DPC staff planned and managed an elegant luncheon on Saturday for 500 high-level donors, a private party for 4,000 physicians that evening and an Open House on Sunday for 10,000 community members.

DPC also planned a dazzling private birthday celebration recently at a beautiful Ponte Vedra Beach ocean front home.  This celebration was attended by guests traveling in from all over the world.  During this incredible evening,  with a backdrop of moonlight, ocean waves and spectacular decor that included creatively framed childhood photos of the birthday boy, guests danced the evening away to music by a Rolling Stones cover band flown in from Los Angeles by DPC.
