Owning your own aircraft can truly offer you the freedom to control when you want to head out to your desired destination. Whether it is a getaway with family to that favorite vacation spot or that crucial business meeting, with your own aircraft at your disposal you have the flexibility you do not have with commercial air travel.

To enjoy a smooth and thorough aircraft purchase or sales experience you need to work with a knowledgeable and competent sales organization. That is where Trade Winds Aviation comes in. We support our customers on all aspects of the purchase or sales process. We can locate that specific aircraft you are looking to purchase. We can list an aircraft you want to sell. You will also find the expert advice in the areas of aircraft insurance, tax implications, and so forth.  Of course, the critical step in any purchase is the Pre-buy inspection and making sure you are getting what you expect.

Skycatcher Update
Skycatcher Exterior

Deluxe skybox seating for a party of two.
From its ergonomic seats, to its unique interior styling, the Skycatcher looks as good as it feels to fly.  Prepare to enjoy a very exclusive view from above, afforded by its high-wing design.

The Skycatcher embodies the fun-to-fly characteristics standard in every Cessna aircraft.  It is also the ideal, economical flight training aircraft to bring the joy and achievement of flight to yet another generation of pilots.

Trade Winds Aviation has sold several of these new aircraft. We are really excited to bring one or more to our rental fleet as soon as possible.  If you would like to discuss the benefits of a new aircraft or a leaseback arrangement, please reach out to Terry McGee or Walt Gyger.

Fly-out News

Following pancake breakfast on the first Saturday of each month pilots and guests gather and then head out on a day trip by air (aka a fly-out). This year we have chosen as a theme California aviation museums as our fly-out destinations. We usually keep to the theme, but not always.

On July 2nd a group of four pilots again intended to fly to McClellan Airfield (MCC) near Sacramento to visit the Aerospace Museum of California. The temperature was predicted to be near 100 degrees in the Sacramento area that day. The group decided that there was no need to endure such high temperatures so we changed our plans and headed somewhere cooler. We flew in two airplanes to Oceano County Airport (L52) which is situated along the central coast just south of San Luis Obispo. Once there we walked the short distance into town and enjoy a nice lunch at Old Juans Mexican Cantina. After lunch we walked down to the beach to pick up some salt water taffy at a local shop.

On Saturday, August 6th is the next schedule fly-out. Not sure where we will head to this time, so show up for the pancake breakfast and offer your suggestions.

If you have questions about future fly-outs or would like to sign up for one please contact Dispatch at (408) 729-5100 or dispatch@tradewindsaviation.com
Great Times To Catch Up With Fellow Pilots

Nothing is more inspiring than sitting around swapping stories about flying adventures. Someone said pilots are like fisherman, the tales only getting better with time.

Trade Winds Aviation offers two opportunities to catch up with fellow pilots. On the first Saturday of the month we host a pancake breakfast. The pancakes are ready starting at 9:00 AM. For those of you who are not early raisers on Saturdays, we have a second opportunity to get together. On the third Friday of the month we host a barbecue starting at 5:00 PM. Drop on by. Bring your family and friends.
