Realize Your Dream To Fly!

Flying is one of the most rewarding adventures a human can undertake. The rewards are plentiful and span from a broader knowledge of the environment we live in to overcoming personal limits. But most of all, it is the fun of flying which provides gratification and deep sense of accomplishment. I meet a lot of people who are interested in learning to fly and for most it has been a lifelong dream. However, I hear and see hesitation to make a commitment to start flight training in order to achieve that dream. I would like to address some of the reasons I hear why potential pilots are holding off realizing their dream.

The cost is too high! This is the most often mentioned reason why not to pursue the dream. While there is no doubt that there is a price tag to becoming a pilot, it should not be an insurmountable challenge if you truly are committed. Saving for flight training is certainly one way to cover the investment, a student loan is another possibility, and sometimes credit cards can be used to finance flight training. Just think of monthly car payments and apply the same concept to flight training, the total cost of becoming a Private Pilot is certainly less than that of a new car.

I don't have the time! We all live busy lives, but making time available is a matter of priorities. If you really want to live your dream and go flying then you may have to cut back on spending time on other things; such a watching TV, playing games, or other not so productive, but time consuming activities.

Training and learning something new is hard. The good news about learning to fly at Trade Winds Aviation is that your training will be structured and our flight instructors are professionals. While there is a lot of material to absorb, our proven training system will make learning very effective for you.

Is flying really safe? A fair question that is in most people's minds, but many are afraid to ask and expose their fears. Safety is a result of thorough training, aircraft maintenance without compromise and a professional support system. Trade Winds Aviation is known to provide a safe environment in all aspects. So, yes flying is safe, so long as pilots are well trained, airplanes are well cared for, and support is available.

Is there a career in aviation? It is still possible to become an airline pilot although the industry has taken a beating in recent years. As the economy turns around, more pilots will be needed again. We already see that some regional carriers starting to hire. The time to start your flight training is now so you will be ready when things do improve.

Bottom-line: Don't push out your dream to fly because a few obstacles seem to get in the way. 'If there is will there is a way' to use a common phrase.

Trade Winds Aviation is committed to helping you achieve your dream. We will help you overcome challenges based on our experience and connection to the aviation industry.
