About Us:

St. Paul's Homecoming Center / Beacon of Hope was originally established in Lakeview as a Katrina Disaster Response Center and is now re-locating to Gentilly.
The Center will serve as a hub for the residents of Gentilly providing numerous services such as computers with internet access, fax, free notary public, volunteer services, and case management just to name a few.
The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana and the Beacon of Hope are looking forward to contributing to the recovery of Gentilly.

On January 15th the St. Paul's Homecoming Center/Beacon of Hope, will open at 1509 Filmore in Gentilly. The Center will be a hub of volunteer organizations working side by side with other organizations. Our mission will be to provide volunteers to homeowners to help them rebuild and reconstruct their lives. The jobs for our volunteers consist of landscaping, laying sod, painting, moving, general clean-up of yards and rebuilding.

Recycling-
SDT DANGLES "FREE RECYCLING" CARROT-not free
An email has been circulating asking residents to sign up via email if they are interested in a free recycling program through SDT.  This is NOT a free service.  The monthly fee is $18 and requires a 3 year contract.

Recycling services have been available to the Lake Area for over a year now through Phoenix Recycling whose monthly fee is only $15 and DOES NOT require a contract of any kind to subscribe.   If you are looking for a recycling program we recommend Phoenix Recycling which is already available in your area. To enroll email phoenix.recycling@gmail.com or call   504-322-7551.    They bill quarterly and accept credit cards payments through PayPal.
