Chesnik Scopes
Janice & Ray Chesnik started Chesnik Scopes in 1980, and Janice's son, Jon Greene, joined them in 1990, producing a full line of brass- and chrome-plated, wheeled kaleidoscopes known for their spectacular "mandalas" or interior images. In 2007, Jon took control of the business, creating scopes for 120+ wholesale accounts located throughout the U.S., Canada and Japan, and now corporate accounts. The creativity of Janice and Ray is still present through the tiny Millefiore glass pieces featured in the 'Fiesta' wheels, which they create via an amazing glass bundling process. Each scope is signed and dated by Jon, and comes with its own wooden base or pedestal. Ultra-clear and vivid optics are produced by using highest quality front-surface mirrors and a magnifying lens. A high-end metal-plating finish is used so none of the metal pieces will ever tarnish.
These dazzling kaleidoscopes are "interactive art", making ideal gifts for men as well as women, suitable for weddings or any occasion. They provide the recipient with many years of viewing enjoyment. Collectors worldwide find them to be finest wheeled scopes made, and they are among the best-selling scopes on the market. Cape Cod Life Magazine featured Jon's artistry in "The Scope of Innovation" in the December 2010 issue.
