Disaster Unemployment Assistance - Help for Self-Employed Artists
from CERF+
Did you know that you might qualify for Disaster Unemployment Assistance if you are an independent artist or other self-employed individual who has lost income due to interruptions from a major disaster?
If there has been a Presidential declaration for a major disaster in your county, and your state has requested Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) from the federal government, then you might be eligible for this financial assistance. To receive help, you must register with your state's employment services office and provide proof of earnings. Benefits usually start from the date of your inability to work due to the disaster, and can extend up to 26 weeks after the Presidential declaration date. For more information about the Disaster Unemployment Assistance program visit the US Department of Labor website.

CRAFT Artist Members Phone Chat
We would like to invite all CRAFT artist members to join us for a phone get-together on Sunday, November 13.
Many of us are busy working in our studios or at shows (not to mention having a life outside the studio) and never have a chance to just pause and talk with fellow artists. Sure, there are discussion groups where specific topics can be brought up and addressed asynchronously. But how about random conversation? Consider this a chance to meet with your friends at a virtual coffeehouse.
This is your opportunity to talk about the business of being an artist today, ask questions of your colleagues, compare experiences, ask for or provide solutions, or just let the conversation flow (how 'bout them Yankees!). Here's an agenda for our first chat: - Is a periodic phone get-together like this of interest to you?
- How often and when should we have them?
- Anything else you want to talk about.
So please join us:
