StudioProtectorCERF Studio Protector Free to CRAFT Artist Members

CERF has launched a new preparedness product: the Studio Protector: An Artist's Guide to Emergencies. An indispensable wall guide for artists who want to cover their "A's" (art, assets and archives, that is) in the event of an emergency. This disaster survival kit features two spinning wheel charts that explain how artists can plan ahead for emergencies and reduce the impact of a disaster. In addition, five pullout guides provide detailed information about what to do in the minutes before a disaster strikes, how to clean up after a calamitous event and how to salvage fire- and water-damaged items. The Studio Protector project grew directly out of the experiences of artists dealing with the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

At the end of May, CRAFT will be sending all our artist members the CERF Studio Protector FREE as part of CRAFT membership. We have heard from gallery owners that many have found the Studio Protector helpful to them as well.  If you would like a copy let Laurie know at info@craftonline.org.  Consider getting copies for some of your gallery artists.  The price to galleries will be the wholesale cost of $8 each + shipping ($2.38 for one copy, shipping cost will vary for larger quantities).

American Craft WeekAmerican Craft Week

American Craft Week is pleased to announce a new major sponsor. The
New York International Gift Fair announced earlier this week it will help to underwrite American Craft Week. The major trade show will also promote American Craft Week to its exhibitors and buyers during
its August show as it celebrates twenty-five years of featuring handmade products. This August the fair will premiere its Handmade Designer Maker section in the new pavilion adjacent to the Jacobs Javits Center. We welcome NYIGF to American Craft Week and thank them for their support.

Coming soon: American Style Magazine, also a sponsor of ACW, is preparing a special advertising section in its Fall issue for American Craft Week participants. This is an opportunity to reach a dedicated national audience and promote American Craft Week events. A portion of the advertising proceeds will benefit ACW.

This week, please reach out and tell one more person in the craft industry about American Craft Week. The more voices, the louder the message!

CRAFT is a national organization of artists, retailers & show sponsors working to support American craft, save money, educate & network.
