American Craft Week Update
by Dian Sulg, Co-Chair ACW
Hi Everyone! This week Ann Pifer and I represented CRAFT and American Craft Week at the annual CODA conference in Savannah, Georgia. This meeting of the Craft Organization Directors Association was a great place to network with arts organizations and spread the word about American Craft Week. We were given two opportunities to speak to the entire group and we distributed lots of brochures.
And our reception was great! We will be adding several new participants to the celebration, including our first from the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and even Hawaii! American Craft Week is truly a national celebration. We also talked to several folks already planning their events, like Debbie Suchy of Eclectic Galleries in Jacksonville Beach Florida who is working with a university's art department to bring a mobile glassblowing studio to her event. What fun!
Look for an e-mail blast next week, with an update on all things ACW. It will be going to all our registered participants. In the meantime, tell one person in the arts about American Craft Week. Keep the ball rolling.
