Why Email Marketing?
by Michelle Keegan, Constant Contact Email Marketing Expert

Email marketing is one of the most powerful marketing tools available to businesses of all types and sizes. No matter how you define success, you can achieve outstanding results with email marketing while investing only a small amount of time and an even smaller amount of money.

"54% of small businesses surveyed rated e-mail as the top online promotion to drive site visitors and customers to their web sites and storefronts." Source: DMA Interactive

"I think over time we'll see small businesses adopting e-mail marketing because it has the inherent advantages of being 'faster, cheaper and easier' to execute. Coupled with the potential to target more precisely than today's solo or shared mailers, there's a real win for the small business owner." Source: Neal Polachek, senior vice president of The Kelsey Group.

ACW LogoAmerican Craft Week Update

As more excitement grows about American Craft Week, here's a glimpse at what's ahead.  First, the American Craft Week web-site is getting a transformation.  The present site was entirely the volunteer effort of New Mexico artist and CRAFT board member, Robert Rickard, who we cannot thank enough.

However, as Craft Week grows, so does the site. On the second site version, there will be a PARTICIPANT area, which will be password protected.  When this is active, everyone involved in American Craft Week can log on and download logos, banners, ideas, the essay contest, media releases and so much more.  And there will be a place where you can list your events and link to them as well. We'll be sure to let you know when this ready!

As part of their sponsorship package with American Craft Week, American Style magazine is working on advertising opportunities for all participants.  The details will be available soon and sent to all participants. This is good news for two reasons:  first, your event can be publicized to a huge audience.  And second, American Style is donating the profits from these ads back to American Craft Week.

What You Can Do Now

  • If you haven't already, sign up for American Craft Week.  To do so, e-mail info@americancraftweek.com and give your business name, address, phone, web-site, contact person and e-mail.

  • Mention American Craft Week to everyone, especially fellow artists, gallery owners and arts organizations.  Direct them to the web-site as well.  We are working on a snowball here - so please, get rolling!

CRAFT is a national organization of artists, retailers & show sponsors working to support American craft, save money, educate & network.
