I'm writing to remind you about and invite you to help create the "New Beginnings" workshop (Oct 23-25). As the first workshop in the "Heart and Soul" Fall series, Level One helps us to understand ourselves and our lives in an exciting and liberating way. We'll learn to identify, process and finally release ourselves from the beliefs and assumptions that kept us limited, inhibited, and too often separated in the past. Seeing through the grand illusion that we call Fear (False evidence appearing real), we'll open the door to real freedom. We'll breathe deeply, learn to relax, begin to trust and remember the gratitude that helps us appreciate and enjoy the gift of Life!

All of us at the Center of Consciousness invite you and those you care about to join us in our commitment to growing, waking up to and living the Truth of who we are. For us, growth begins as soon as we are willing to take responsibility for our lives! No longer a victim of any circumstance, we embrace our lives as our own creation and are humbled by the wisdom and perfection of every experience. Inevitably, growing up means leaving behind the self-absorption, self-centeredness and narcissistic indulgences that are the very definition of our fearful adolescent and ego-centric identities. As we mature, we must find the way to balance and integrate our needs and desires with those of the "others" in our lives. Eventually we come to see others in, and as, ourselves. Feeling a sense of oneness, union with all life, we experience integration and come to know what many have called our "higher" self. As true adults, we toil tirelessly and fearlessly, each in our own way, to create a better world and a better existence for all.

The ripening called Enlightenment is, on the other hand, to be released from attachment to the "dream" and illusion altogether. "Tearing down the house that fear built," we find ourselves freed from the need to identify with the "self" we once thought we were. "In the world, but no longer of the world," we realize, at last, the meaning of true freedom. Annihilated in an unavoidable death-rebirth process, we see clearly that "true self is no self." Without fanfare of any kind, each of us is, to paraphrase poet Leyman Pang, "just an ordinary man (woman) who has completed his (her) work." Nothing more, nothing less...
