Message from MIP&L's
President Jan 08
Welcome to a new year, opening
new and exciting opportunities for environmental stewardship.
MIP&L is a mutual ministry. We are an organization of congregations, working in our houses-of-worship
to be responsible environmental stewards. AND when we do the right
thing there, we tell our stories to our congregants ("go and do likewise"),
to other congregations and then to where we work, learn, rest and recreate.
MIP&L is an organization
that meets the definition of stewardship. We exist to give. To do so means each member gives at home and to/with the organization.
So we need you to... - Tell your stories,
by preparing an Everyday Environmental Stewardship brief or
Case Study.
- Assume responsibility
for your region of Massachusetts as a MIP&L ambassador, reaching
out to other congregations so that they know that "doing the right
thing" is not only possible, there is someone who has done it who
will help show the way.
- Remember that Being Green has at least two results - the first
is a healthy and lasting environment; the second you deposit in the
bank!
Here are some specifics for
the coming months: - Attend the Going Green Expo February 2 and 3, and help out at the
MIP&L booth for an hour or two.
- Start planning for
an Earth
Day event in your community.
- Prepare for, then
have the Home Energy Audit you've always said you would do. Get and use the Utility Use & Cost and the Home Audit EES briefs from the MP&L web site.
If
We Don't, Who Will?
Blessings,
Tom Nutt-Powell
PS Please pay your member fee. It's the only way we survive, can produce this newsletter, sponsor events, and continue our mutual ministry of environmental stewardship. Thank you!
