Welcome to the April edition of the Hands On Asheville-Buncombe e-newsletter.  April is National Volunteer month, and we want to take this opportunity to say "THANK YOU!" to all you amazing volunteers who are so generous with your time and talents! 
 
We also want to give special thanks to our volunteer Project Coordinators. Hands On Managed Projects
gardenerHands On Managed Projects usually last 2-3 hours, generally occur on evenings and weekends, and don't require a long term commitment.  These projects are managed by Hands On and led by trained volunteer Project Coordinators.

Partner Agency Special Projects & Events
Our Partner Agencies are offering great ways to get involved this month.  Click on "learn more" for project details and to express interest in a project.  
 
The International Children's Day Festival is an annual festival held at Vance Elementary to celebrate student diversity and Springtime. Many volunteers are needed to fufill various roles including: assisting game and craft booths, serving food, selling tickets etc.  Learn more.
 
Bike & Pedestrian Taskforce will be training kids on the rules of the road in an effort to have them ride their bicycles more safely, and become safe drivers when they reach the age to drive. Taskforce needs volunteers to encourage the kids, correct inappropriate behaviors, and give positive feedback on bike handling skills.   Learn more.
