We had an exciting May full of Girl Scouts! We were able to provide programming to 7 troops! One group was from Cedar Park, and studied Brazil. They were able to spend the night at the hostel, and had a blast! This was not only their first time to spend the night at a hostel, but for most, it was also their first exposure to the existence of hostels! What a neat experience!
We have been very successful in expanding out programming efforts into other cities within the Southwest Texas Council. We have established a wonderful relationship with the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Council in San Antonio, and delivered the Cultural Kitchen program to a group of over 30 girls from several troops. This event was held at the Girl Scout headquarters in San Antonio. The girls worked together to prepare an international potluck, as each group learned all about and prepared food based on the cuisine of a variety of countries! They studied France, Greece, Spain, Jamaica, and Ireland. It was a great group, and they learned so much from each other!

Volunteer - We have a variety of fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities. A few areas where volunteers help us fulfill our mission include: hosting events for hostel guests, teaching travel classes, serving on the board of directors, and facilitating Cultural Kitchen events.
