What's Up @ The Beadles
March 2010, #1
Greetings!

This newsletter is a couple weeks overdue for a multitude of reasons, mostly because we've been sooooo busy.

First of all, we started off February with the most fabulous special event we've ever had - Super Bead IV. If you were there, you know what I'm talking about. If you missed it, mark your calendar for  Sunday, February 6th, 2011. We'll do everything we can to outdo ourselves next year. The photos below offer only a glimpse of all the fun we had.

trunk show 2009 octThen, we've been inundated with new inventory arriving almost daily. There's a lot of labor involved in getting it ready for the sales floor - so we're working like crazy. (I keep threatening to turn us into a bead museum so we don't keep needing to replenish stock. Fortunately, I come to my senses after a momentary dream of a perfectly arranged and stocked shop.) The Chinese crystals are major eye-candy. We've also added beautiful ceramic beads, including raku, from Greece.

And, our classes are going great. We're fortunate to have really awesome instructors with seemingly limitless ideas for new projects. Keep checking the website calendar as classes are being added as we get them arranged. Feel free to let us know if there is something we need to add to the schedule.

Save the Date!!! Wednesday, March 17th, Avian Oasis will be here for a trunk show from 10am to 7pm. John's selection of semi-precious stones never disappoints.

Lastly there is the bad news. My husband's position at University of Tulsa was eliminated so he's currently job seeking. While our preference is to remain in the area - that may not be possible. Please be assured that our last option is to close the shop. If we do move, I'll be looking for a buyer for the most fabulous bead shop in the world. (No, I'm not humble about it - and I offer no apologies for the truth!!)

The Beadles

An oath need be made to keep customers
from being here much too long. For this
store will always captivate newcomers.
Filled with chuckling staff and also consists
of a plethora of glistening beads.
As you look upon the displays, I know
it will be hard to look away. For needs
will never conquer your wants. Money will flow
out of your pockets. How long will you stay?
I invite you with sincerity to make
yourself comfortable. We beaders will play
and create. So what will you even partake
in? Join a class. Shop around and a word
of advice. Tease Teresa! She's a nerd!

[ Not sure about being called a nerd -

but Kenzie's a real sweetie!]
Take Me Home!

Local artist, Debbi Hunter, created Betty for us. You need to see her family of  "All God's Children" currently on display at
The Beadles. A perfect gift for Mom, a dear friend, or a special teacher.
