What's Up @ The Beadles Bead Show, Wire Classes & More
November 2009, #2
Greetings, Beaders!

Wow, there's a lot going on this week. Thursday evening is the Holiday Tea Off.  This annual event, sponsored by the Broken Arrow Main Street Merchants, is the official kickoff for the holiday shopping season. Merchants will be offering refreshments and there will be several venues for entertainment. The weather is supposed to be lovely so it would a great way to spend an evening - and, of course, we'll be open late and getting into the holiday spirit. (My suggestion for an evening of disco music was voted Down!)

Friday is the first day of the Bead Renaissance Show at the Tulsa Fairgrounds. Be sure to say Hi to John at Avian Oasis. He's offering a free strand of pearls with a $25 purchase if you drop our name! Those of you who are interested in learning wire wrapping should take a class or two from Dale Nichols. All of his classes are suitable for beginners. For more info, go to the show's website and click on Wire Art Jewelry classes. Our own wire instructor, Janice Bowden, is working with Dale for the show and can help with information about our wire wrapping classes.

We've also got a treat for you at the bottom of this newsletter. Hey, you don't think we want you spending the whole weekend at the bead show, do you? Our beads would be very lonely.

The other great event is that Rolling Thunder motorcycle club is paying a visit to the quilting gals at Sew Flakes on Saturday morning at 11am. This is going to be fun. A bunch of (mostly) Harley-riding veterans checking out the quilting babes. (Hey, Chris, you gonna get to ride on one of them motorcycles?)

Seriously, Rolling Thunder is making a donation to Sew Flakes for their participation in Quilts of Valor. Sew Flakes coordinates the making of quilts by volunteers which are given to combat-wounded military men and women in military hospitals. Monetary donations are always welcome - especially to cover the postage expenses. Sew Flakes is located at 106 S. Main, their phone number is 251-7094.

Whew, I'm tired just thinking about all these events.

Hope everyone has a beadiful week -
Teresa

"House" Cleaning Update -
50% off Table Overflowing with Great Deals

No, I'm not cleaning my house, that ain't happening any time soon. But the shop is really getting worked over. The 50% off table is exceeding its alloted space - and we're adding to it daily.  There's lots of very nice semi-precious, Czech glass, findings, and more that have to find a new home.  We're ready to buy more beads and have to make room!
