For the Good of the Game
|
ExtraTime applauds the many individuals and organizations that run memorial tournaments, scholarship programs, events to raise funds and awareness (such as Kicks Against Breast Cancer as reported in our last issue) and programs to promote friendship through soccer and other sports across town, across the nation and even across national borders (Coaches Across Continents).
Every year as we travel to state and national workshops we are inspired by the amazing stories of people being inducted into Halls of Fame. These people share a special quality of giving and caring. Whether a life-long devotion and dedication to the sport, for setting up clubs and leagues, or for mentoring and providing opportunities for others, their stories need to be told.
ExtraTime will dedicate a space in each issue to this purpose. Tell us about the person your memorial tournament, field complex or scholarship fund is named after. Tell us about the people in your community who have made a difference. Tell us what you do For the Good of the Game and we will share it here, with the entire Demosphere network.

| Get Going Demosphere |
In our last issue Demosphere introduced our Get Going Demosphere campaign; promoting and encouraging healthy lifestyles. Lee Levenberg writes, "Officiating soccer games is the best stress reliever I know. If I am not working as CFO of a swimwear company or treasurer of Plantation Eagles Football Club, I am on the fields as a referee for youth, adult and high school games."
Since our last issue, Account Manager Kristin Donlin and COO Ben Jones participated in the 36th Annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run. A three minute difference in our previous race turned into a four minute difference for the other this time around.
We may joke about healthy competition, but the important part still remains that getting out on a daily basis is what makes a difference. Whether it is running, walking, refereeing, cycling, etc., these activities can help you focus more, keeps your mind sharp, will keep you healthy, and can be a great way to relax. Exercise is great and even if you only do it for 30 minutes something is better then nothing.
Demosphere wants to know what activities you participate in outside your day-to-day life. Send your stories to extratime@demosphere.com as a part of our Get Going Demosphere campaign.
Get Going Demosphere is about promoting and encouraging healthy lifestyles. Stay tuned for more on Demosphere staff and their activities outside the office.
