| Remembering Edward M. Kennedy |
| Franciscan Hospital for Children has an exhaustive list of trailblazers who can be counted among its friends. We honor the memory of Senator Edward M. Kennedy as we celebrate the Hospital's 60th Anniversary this month.
The senator was present at the groundbreaking ceremony of Franciscan Hospital for Children (then known as the Kennedy Memorial Hospital) in 1947.
The Hospital has since gone through many transitions to emerge as a pioneer in clinical, therapeutic and educational programs as well as one of the nation's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospitals.
As we move ahead with our mission to serve children with special health care needs, we pause to remember a friend who shared with us a significant moment in our history.
