For reasons I can't fully explain, this past Thursday's Red Lion gig once again drew over 300 fans to Bleecker Street, where they took in Tony Novarro's "triple" (performing with Planet Girl Valerie Gurka, original girl Liz Weber, and birthday girl Lisa Thaler's Frisky Business), a fine debut from Toast, a very energetic and fresh-from-Tokyo Blue Moxie, and The Rolling Bones (who stayed up all night, grabbed a 6 am flight to New Orleans, and performed to 1,000 people nat JazzFest the following day). Rock and roll!
The new limited edition 2007 Planet Waves Jam NYC guitar picks have arrived, in your choice of black (me) and white (Eric). Naturally.
We're
happy to announce that we've retired the old Ampeg Workingman's 15 bass rig that served
proudly in Studio 3 for the past year. A veteran of many conflicts, she was
one of the last remaining pieces of used gear that helped start the Jam, and we
are thankful for her service. A new Harry Kolbe Single 12 cabinet and Crate Powerblock amp head are now on duty in Studio 3.

Law and Order
|
|
There are basically two rules to follow at the Jam, both of which have been flagrantly and repeatedly disregarded in recent weeks:
1) Put everything back the way you found it. You should have learned this one in kindergarten (so named by order-loving Germans). It's a simple rule that nicely covers a broad range of issues. A corollary of this rule is: If you bring it into the room, take it out. Effects, cords, sticks, cymbals, everything. Don't worry about what the next band might want or need - that's our job. Is it unfair that lefty drummers have to put them back for righties? Yes. Wouldn't it be cooler if someone cleaned up after you? Yes, but, it would mean hiring more people, raising room rates and/or charging more for membership. We'd like to avoid that.
2) No food or beverages (other than capped, bottled water) allowed in the Studios. That means no cups, ever. Spills are frequently messy, malodorous, and harmful to equipment - which is why we confine them to the Lounge. Walking a few steps to eat and drink helps keep the Jam nice. The way you want it to be.

Drummer and Guitarist looking for singer and bassist to share catchy
riffs and solid beats to write original rock songs. Also open to
covering songs as well. Our previous band was influenced by Pearl
Jam, Sheryl Crow, Green Day, U2, Peter Gabriel, DMB, etc. Open to new
ideas and look to rehearse once a week and get to the point to play a
couple shows a year.
