Downtown Announcements & Events

Downtown Hampton
would like to welcome
Tropical Smoothie
to the Hampton University Shops

on Settlers Landing Road

****************

The CASH MOB is invading
Downtown Hampton!!
beginning April 12th.

This is a new concept to support locally-owned
businesses that is sweeping the nation

The first event will be held at La Bodega Hampton
on April 12th from 5pm - 7pm

The rules are simple
1.  Show up at La Bodega Hampton between the
hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
2.  Spend $20
3.  Get a FREE gift
4.  Meet at least three people
5. A portion of the proceeds will go to
the Downtown Hampton Child Development Center.

A little history about Cash Mobs:

The general idea is to encourage people to go into small, local businesses and spend their money, en masse, to give the business owner a little bit of economic stimulus. This in turn helps businesses grow, makes people happy,  people get stuff for themselves, have a great time  and maybe have a celebratory gift afterward.  Also a portion of the proceeds is given back to the community in form of a donation to a local charity of the business's choosing.

Cash Mobs have been sprouting up all across the U.S., Canada, and around the world.  While organized by many different groups of people, all appear to have the same goal in mind: to support local businesses that they love!

"Cash Mobs" isn't a political or social organization, a corporation, a movement, or meant to be an answer to economic crisis. By and large, those that organize Cash Mobs are simply people trying to make a positive impact on the businesses in their communities (and have fun while doing it)!

So come one come all to support
Downtown Hampton's first of many

Cash Mobs.
