Hampton City Schools is working to
increase success for our students -

We would like to encourage parents to register their new Kindergarten students during the initial registration period and additionally motivate them to frequent local businesses such as yours. We would love to include your business in our "Registration Reward Pack" by giving them coupons or donating merchandise to be raffled off to our
Early Bird parents.

If you are able to contribute, we will need the coupons
or raffle items by April 6th so we may include
them in the packets.

Our goal is to create 600 incentive/reward packs for parents registering their children for Kindergarten during the initial registrationperiod April 23-27.

The packets will include coupons and "rewards" from local businesses, information regarding Kindergarten readiness, and ideas for parents about how to help their children prepare during the summer for this new transition.

This will serve several purposes:
Encourage families to spend time together and frequent local businesses during the summer  - both stimulating the economy and giving their children these socially enriching experiences.
Provide parents with valuable information regarding
Kindergarten readiness and ideas of how they can help
their child prepare during the summer months
for this transition.
Enable HCS to better prepare for our students'
needs by allowing for pre-assessment opportunities.

Organizations supporting HCS in this endeavor will be recognized in the incentive packets, through the Hampton Herald, and Channel 46.

Thank you for your participation!

1.7 billion children & families live without
electricity locally and abroad. Giving Light Inc. does their part by engaging children with special needs,
youth, seniors,  veterans and their family in the craft of making colorful, exotic, long lasting candles and soap!
Giving Light gives these items to children & families
locally & sends them to missionaries in under
developed countries such as Uganda, Cambodia, Asia,
Haiti & Latin America to distribute to children &
families living in complete darkness.
Their volunteers provide services to organizations
such as the Boys and Girls Club, YMCAs', nursing homes,
and schools demonstrating and teaching them the art of
candle making. If you're looking for a way to give back
that makes a difference, explore the art of making
candles and soap to satisfy a need for those less fortunate,
Giving Light's volunteers will come to your site!
Donations are appreciated and needed, but no money
is required to help in this effort....just volunteer your time!
