In partnership with Metro Productions and the
Peninsula Fine Arts Center, the First
Peninsula-wide "Empty Bowls" event
has come together.
Empty Bowls' goal is to feed hungry families
and individuals in our community.
Potters and other local artists will be
donating their talents to this great event.
The event will take place on February 10, 2012
beginning at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
Your ticket includes a simple meal of
chef-crated soup, plus bread and desert.

will all be on hand with their tasty creations.
You will also receive a hand-crafted bowl of
your choice with your ticket purchase.
The bowls have been created by local potters.
One hundred percent of the proceeds
will be donated to local hunger
fighting organizations including
Food Bank of Virginia Peninsula
FISH Emergency Services of Williamsburg
and Lamb House Street Ministries of
Hampton and Newport News.
This project was founded as a grassroots
effort to raise both money and
awareness in the fight against hunger.

The Virginia Air & Space Center is hosting
Super Bowl Sunday, with all of your favorite
football pastimes. Food will be available for
purchase from the Cosmic Café and a cash bar
will be available. Guests can purchase a special
Tailgate Pass for $20 that includes:
complimentary draft beer and fountain soda,
cornhole, one complimentary nacho
with cheese and 10% off purchases in
the Cosmic Café. Seating is limited and it is
first come, first serve.

Calling all Egg-straordinary Engineers for the 9th Annual Egg Drop Contest The Virginia Air & Space Center's
9th Annual Egg Drop Contest features students from Hampton Roads' schools
competing in a test of engineering prowess.
Students are challenged to design the lightest
possible container to hold a fresh egg that
when dropped from the 2nd floor of the
Virginia Air & Space Center will prevent the
egg from cracking or breaking. Prizes will be
awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. Student categories range from 1st grade to college/adult February 25, 2012 - 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Participants are free!
