Are you looking to get away for awhile? Pack your bags and don't forget your toothbrush. This July, Shoal Creek is taking you to four of our favorite vacation hot spots. We'll tell you what to look for, where to eat, and things that you just HAVE to experience.

And more importantly, we'll tell you why God is asking you to take these four trips...not just once, but often.

    • Hello, Goodbye - The Cast of Glee
    • Live Like We're Dying - Kris Allen

Three hours of your time spent selling or sorting or stocking all kinds of stuff can make a world of difference:

The difference between eating and starving...the difference between shelter and homelessness...the difference between fresh water and thirst for people from Kansas City to South Africa.

Volunteer at the Shoal Creek Thrift Store - it's the most valuable three hours you will ever spend.

Help Clay County Students!

Shoal Creek Community Church, in partnership with United Services Community Action Agency, is hosting a Clay County Back-to-School Fair.  The Fair provides low-income families an opportunity to receive school supplies, community resource education, health services and FUN.  Nearly 50 vendors and service providers will greet and serve over 1100 kids from 9:30am-6:30pm throughout the Shoal Creek building.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare for this event and serve the families as they visit our campus.  On the day prior to the Fair (Wednesday, August 4th) we need help at 10am to help unload the trucks of supplies and set-up tables and stations.  At 1pm, we need volunteers to fill the 1200 school backpacks with school supplies.  THIS IS A GREAT VOLUNTEER TIME FOR KIDS TO HELP!

On the day of the Fair, Thursday, August 5th, we need help with various tasks such as directing families, helping with food, assisting vendors, etc.   We also need volunteers who are willing to do fluoride dental varnishes (we can train them!)  You can choose your own shift: 9-11:30, 11:30-2, 2-5, or 5-6:30.

Many Clay County families are struggling to make ends meet -- now is the time we can come together to help give them a hand up.

If you would like to help out, email Hanni Guinn at hguinn@unitedservicescaa.org or call Shoal Creek at 816.792.2992
