October Newsletter

Our focus here at Osmosis has always been on health and vitality, for the body, the community and the planet. Our philosophy encompasses responsible choices with healing for all. October is Breast Health Awareness month and we are honoring that with our specials and events

With Vision Quests and all day Spa Packages we hope to inspire a deep calm, reflection, and healing of the spirit and the soul. The specials at Osmosis this month support those with challenges to their lymphatic systems and skin, suitable for people in cancer recovery or who are going through cancer treatments.

The lymphatic system is responsible for moving fluid and waste through the body and for regulating the immune system. When the lymphatic system becomes blocked, the entire system backs up and becomes toxic, which makes us feel sluggish and more susceptible to illness. By stimulating this system through a lymphatic massage, lymph works more efficiently. This in turn boosts the immune system, clears blockages, eliminates toxins, transports nutrients to cells, increases metabolism, and may even help with the appearance of cellulite.

For the Recovery Facial we use TecNicheŽ products which are dermatologist tested, gluten-free, free of irritating chemicals and synthetic preservatives, and completely scent-free. Our Aesthetics department has in-depth training on skin care for oncology patients and is trained to perform this specialized facial. Those who have completed chemotherapy and no longer have significant side effects, or those with rosacea and other sensitive skin types are welcome to book this facial with any of our skilled aestheticians. To learn more about TecNicheŽ and the Recovery Facial, read this month's Skincare In Focus.

This Month's Vitality Quest - Sunday, October 21
Daidie Donnelley

Come to Your Senses

Have you lost the sense of aliveness and joy you once had?
Each of us is a rich and complex organism, yet we use only the tiniest fraction of the capacities available to us. This Vitality Quest is about expanding the range of your natural capacities so you discover other sources of guidance than the mind. Using your senses to increase awareness, you will learn to look, listen, taste, touch and smell, in a way that sensitizes you to messages within and around you. You will leave, feeling more in-tune and alive, with a few simple steps to bring what you've experienced to daily life.

Daidie Donnelley, MA, MFCC, CPCC is part coach, part mentor, part guide. She has worked as a psychotherapist for twenty years and has been coaching for five. In addition she has over fifty years experience in the creative arts (theatre, writing, photography, film, dance) and fifty-five years in spiritual practice. Daidie Donnelley is a Life Coach, Writer and Contemplative guide. She guides Inner Journeys at Osmosis and individual retreats.
