      Bath as Medicine

June Newsletter

Recently, Osmosis founder Michael Stusser journeyed back to Japan to revisit the traditional Cedar Enzyme Baths, and reconnect with the amazing spirit of Japan and its people.

Read more in the Osmosis Blog .

On the first day of the trip, he visited the baths at HAGI NO SATO in Chiba, a beautiful countryside area south of Tokyo. The founder, Mr. Kitajima, who has been working with the enzyme bath to support people's health for decades, had a wealth of knowledge. He shared that the bath purifies old blood, and improves kidney flow. Detoxification is effective because the quality of sweat produced has six times as much waste as urine. The bath effects the body like a major workout, and in some ways it's more effective. At the same time, the enzyme bath has a major restorative effect similar to what is achieved only by deep sleep.

Recognizing these essential healing properties, we treat the bath as medicine here at Osmosis. It is a powerful practice to detox, heal and restore the body. In June we honor the Bath as Medicine.

Enzyme drinks have been produced in Japan for centuries. We add this Japanese powder to our Osmosis Blend Tea (by Taylor Maid), served before your enzyme bath. Biem Koso enzymes are extracted from 25 different organically grown plants, mostly fruits and vegetables, with some herbs. This white powder comes in a 300-gram glass jar and has a pleasant taste, especially when mixed with an herbal tea.
