October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is a month of renewal and new beginnings. This month Osmosis honors cancer awareness and prevention and our specials reflect this. With Vision Quests and all day Spa Packages we hope to inspire a deep calm, reflection and healing of the spirit and the soul.

The New Osmosis Recovery Facial kicks off to support those with health challenged skin, suitable for those with cancer or going through cancer treatments like chemotherapy. It is also a wonderful facial for those with rosacea and other sensitive skin types. $120 for 75 minutes.

We use TecNiche® products which are dermatologist tested, gluten-free, free of irritating chemicals and synthetic preservatives, and completely scent-free. Our Aesthetics department is headed by Lauren Santibañez, who has in-depth training on skin care for oncology patients and is trained to perform this specialized facial. Those who have completed chemo and no longer have significant side effects, or those with rosacea and other sensitive skin types are welcome to book this facial with any of our skilled aestheticians.

One Day Vision Quests

So many of us struggle daily with stress and teeter on the edge of burn-out. We yearn to take a break and renew our spirit but just don't have the time in our busy schedules.

for deep renewal!

To meet our Shaman, Francis Rico, and learn more about his inspiring message, that suffering is optional, join us Thursday Night at 6 pm, October 6th. Shaman Francis will speak about the concept of Deep Beauty, preview the format of the quests and share his new book. This special preview is free to attend, please RSVP to 707-823-8231. The Vision Quest lead by Shaman Francis Rico is designed to enhance the depth of a one-day spa experience with an afternoon of teachings, ceremony and reflective time for personal discovery. Rico says, "We're in a new age, and we can achieve an intimate level of communion and collaboration with Creation by caring for ourselves at the deepest level. This allows our own unique gift to be found, supported, and expressed in our lives."

The day begins with a purifying Cedar Enzyme Bath, then a sound healing session with HEMI-SYNCH® Metamusic® in Osmosis' brand new Field of Hammocks. This is followed by a 75 minute Massage to help to unwind the knots of discursive thought, while disarming the conflicting veils of emotion that keep us from living in present, "moment to moment" awareness. Next, a nutritive and delicious lunch is provided before you head into the Vision Quest portion of your day.

The Vision Quest will explore Deep Beauty through Shamanic Ceremony and a guided Spirit Journey including a personal retreat alone in the beautiful wilderness surrounding Osmosis. The afternoon concludes with a circle of sharing. Follow-up support and continuity will be available.

This experience is offered Tuesday October 18th and Wednesday October 26th.

The Bath has a New Recipe!

We recently changed one of our key ingredients in the bath from Pine to Douglas fir, and it's made a noticeable difference. The pine was from kiln-dried wood, while the fir is from moist freshly milled conifers that have all the life and fragrance of the woods.

With the new mix the heat feels more even and not as initially hot as the pine. Both softer and more fragrant, the tub temperatures stay more consistent so the heat is able to warm you to the core. It is gentler which makes it easier to stay still and completely covered while enjoying your bath.

Our other primary ingredient, cedar, is very healing and has one of the highest vibrations of any plant. It has been used in traditional ceremonies by native peoples around the world for millennia for its strength and purification. The combination of cedar and fir is superb.

Breast Cancer Fund Peak Hike - October 2nd

Join the Osmosis Team in the Breast Cancer Fund's annual Peak Hike! You can join our team if you like, or hike on your own, or simply donate.

The Breast Cancer Fund supports eliminating the causes of the disease, like exposure to carcinogenic chemicals. Osmosis also supports a non-toxic and chemical-free lifestyle and products.

Halloween is a magical time of year when you can wear a costume and be whoever you want to be. We love the playful energy of this holiday and find that play is often a missing component in grown-up life, which is too bad because it is such a vitality boost!
