March into Spring!

Thank you for all the responses to our spring break plans request.  More than 2/3 of the respondants are either out of town or not planning on coming that week so we will close for Spring Break from March 19 to March 23!  Enjoy the week, what ever you have planned! Your student will pick up 2 weeks of work prior to that week.

Please note that our Open House for March 3 has been cancelled.  My father-in-law suddenly passed away early Feb 28 and I am traveling to Paducah, KY    Ann and the Kirkwood staff

Student Spotlight:
Congratulations to Michael Boehm!  He completed the Kumon Reading Program in February 2011. He is currently studying Level J in the math program as well.

If the Boehm name sounds familiar, it should. Last month Michael's older sister, Rachel, stood in this spotlight for finishing the Reading Program in December. Michael also continues to amaze us all with his resilience and determination. Last summer he broke two vertebras in his neck and was paralyzed.  With lots of love, prayers, medical technology and very hard work, Michael survived and is thriving.  He works out at the YMCA and is continuing his Kumon and home school studies under the direction of his tireless mom.  She only gave Michael 2 months off from his Kumon studies due to his accident. How is that for dedication!

Congratulations Michael!
