First Choice Health Systems continues to grow!   We are moving to a larger space in our building. We are still at 405 Capitol Street in Charleston, but we will now be located in suite 908.

We are also expanding our staff.   We are
excited to announce that we have hired Patty Deutsch to work as Director of the Problem Gamblers Help Network of West Virginia.  Patty is a Liscensed Professional Counselor who most recently worked with the WV Wellness Council.  Patty was one of our network counselors, so she is already an expert in gambling addiciton.

We have pleased to announce that Scott Jarret has joined us as the Business and Development Officer for First Choice Health Systems. Scott previously worked as Executive Director for the American Red Cross West Virginia Region.

Welcome to our team Patty and Scott!

Our weekend ReTREATment seminars, a mix of intense treatment and spiritual fellowship, have continued to grow in popularity. Our next one will be in Morgantown this June.

2012 Summer ReTREATment Announcement

Despite having over 90 trained counselors, there are a few areas of the state where we need more counselors to meet our goal of getting callers an appoitment within 30 miles of their home.  Please see our  Counselor Training Announcement to see if you qualify to become one of our clinicians!

West Virginia continues to have one of the highest prescription drug overdose rates in the nation. Just last year this was the cause of death for over 600 people in our state.  Another 100 + died from prescription drug-related causes, such as a drowning or auto accidents in which these drugs were discovered in the toxicology report. See the details here.

We have now taken over 300 calls from West Virginians struggling with a prescription drug addiction.

We work with SBIRT to provide data analysis and provider training. We are pleased that this provider network is growing.  The newest participant in the WV SBIRT program  is Shenandoah Valley Medical System, Inc.  in Martinsburg.
