Update To New 2012 TOA Price Announcement Due to many challenges in getting new, correct price sheets to our dealers, TOA Electronics has decided to postpone the effective date of our recently announced price increase until April 2, 2012. This should give everyone a chance to implement the new pricing in their ordering systems and create quotations accordingly. Your new 2012 applicable and correct Price List is now available via the weblink emailed to your company earlier this month.
For complete details on how this will affect orders placed between now and 3/30/12 please click the following link. Our goal is to make this interim period as easy as possible for everyone to manage. Please contact us with any questions at: sales@toaelectronics.com.
We sincerely hope this helps to stem any negative impact to your business that this pricing change may have caused.
Thank you for your business and continued support.

New Expanded Paging Accessories for 9000M2 TOA is proud to announce the forthcoming introduction of new paging hardware to be used with the 9000M2. These include the Q-RM-9012 Remote Paging Microphone and the Q-SS-9012 Speaker Selector. These new units (along with some new firmware & GUI software updates) will equip the already versatile 9000M2 with even more powerful tools for flexible, yet cost-effective multi-zone paging. Used together, these new accessories will allow a 9000M2 with a single amplifier channel to page into up to 12 zones independently or simultaneously. This works using the C-IN/C-OUT connections on the 9000M2 chassis (up to 12 when configured with a C-001T module) and an expanded "sync" feature in the 9000M2 paging matrix. By selecting these outputs in the GUI program, the SS-9012 can be made to activate any of 12 speaker lines from the amplifier's output. Corresponding paging buttons on the Q-RM-9012 mic can then be used to activate up to 12 paging "groups" or presets (including ALL CALL). In addition, a second amplifier channel may be used to allow switching between a background music source and a priority paging source to the 12 outputs. Used in combination with the T-001T cards and additional amplification the system can be expanded to up to 19 zones. The 9000M2's firmware & GUI software set will be upgraded to v2.0 to provide this added functionality. Both hardware and software will be available in Spring of 2012, with pricing to be announced soon. |
Product Spotlight: SR-S4 Slim Line Array Question-How do you achieve In-your-face "Hi-Fi" at 100'+ distance? Answer- The TOA SR-S4 Slim Array (OK, you knew that w as coming).
The SR-S4 has been around a few years and represents the pinnacle of TOA Slim Line Technology. With an aesthetically agreeable, reduced footprint blended with impressive sonic punch and clarity, the SR-S4 has found its way into many successful HOW and Auditorium projects. The SR-S4 sports a compliment of 8- 4" low -frequency drivers and a coaxially-mounted array of 24- 1" dome tweeters, which produce a wide-frequency, coherent wave-front. Available in two configurations: an "L" version with a 0 deg. Vertical by 90 deg. Horizontal dispersion angle projects sound to the back row, without blowing your front row audience's hair off. The "S" version delivers a 10 deg. Vertical dispersion angle for where wider vertical dispersion is required (such as venues with an floor incline), or where S&L versions are used in combination for varied coverage in the vertical plane (as with an orchestra/balcony layout).
Taking advantage of full line array physics, the SR-S4 delivers high quality, consistent sound to every seat in the house, with little deviation even up to 90' distance from a single SR-S4. When used in cascade configuration, that distance effectively doubles! The real benefit comes when these are used in highly-reverberant environments: Their array configuration dramatically reduces surface reflections and susceptibility to feedback, thus greatly improving intelligibility. The SR-S4s can handle up to 600W continuous program and may be operated in full-range or bi-amped mode. They can also be fitted with an optional 70V matching transformer for distributed audio application (such as wide area announcements). To top it all off, they are paintable to match any décor and are available in WP (weather-proof) versions for out-door use. Add a variety of flexible hardware mounting options and the value of the SR-S4 system becomes clear. At recent TOA Road Show events, the SR-S4 stood out as a clear performer and has gained many fans. |
Tech Tip: Connecting a VoIP Phone Switch to the 9000M2 By: Josh Srago, CTS
As technology emerges and develops we are seeing more and more devices living on the network, with the phone system in particular moving from standard analog, or POTS, system to a Voice-over-IP (VoIP). With the transition from analog to VoIP this has created the question of how to integrate the new phone system with your TOA amplifiers, specifically your 9000M2 with a ZP-001T phone paging module.
The ZP-001T allows for an analog extension port to connect directly to the 9000M2 for zone paging solutions. But with a VoIP system, there is a distinct absence of analog extension ports, so how do you connect the switch to the ZP-001T module?
This is where we want to look for a VoIP switch with an XFS or XFO port. So what's the difference between the two?
An FXS port is a port that supplies the dial tone, battery current and ring voltage. This means that you can connect directly out of an FXS port right into the ZP-001T module.
An FXO port is a port that does not supply the dial tone, battery current, or ring voltage, but will provide an on/off hook indication. This means that the FXO port will require an external adapter to supply the battery current or ring voltage. We can recommend the Viking Electronics DLB-200B Two Way Phone Line Simulator to supply those and provide a simple and effective solution.
If you have any additional questions about how to integrate your VoIP phone system with the TOA 9000M2 and ZP-001T module for multi-zone phone paging applications, please contact our product support group at 800-733-4748 from 8 am to 8 pm EST. |
