Welcome back to "How's the Market?"  

Can you believe this weather?  My poor garden looks so parched these days.   The parades tomorrow are going to be pretty intense  with this kind of heat!  Summer clearly is here.  

As expected things slowed down a little bit after our robust May, but there clearly are buyers out there looking.  I'm finding myself fairly busy these days with people interested in looking for great homes at great prices.

Just the facts..
How's the market? 
I encourage you to read (or listen to) the NPR article about the credit markets that is provided in this newsletter.  I thought it was great at providing some insight into why the housing market is not improving exponentially. 

We are probably in the best period in the last 50 years to purchase a home -- interest rates are amazing and the home values have dropped over 30% in the last 6 years -- and yet qualified buyers are finding roadblocks to getting credit.  In fact, during the last few months, I have had superbly qualified buyers finding themselves jumping through hoops to get a mortgage.   I tend to believe are we experiencing an over-correction
of the credit markets. 

So, how is the market?

All indications are that while the trend is in the right direction, we're not out of the woods yet....
