Remember that Joyce Kilmer poem we had to learn in school?

I think that I shall never see

A poem as lovely as a tree...

I'm reminded of it as the leaves start changing colors and the trees begin shedding their bountiful foliage everywhere. One of the challenges (and perks) of being a homeowner on the North Shore is dealing with our beautiful, mature ...

Greetings!

Welcome to October's "How's the Market?"

Fall is officially here.  I am reminded of my childhood growing up on the North Shore.  We would all be out raking the leaves into piles and then running and jumping into them and making a mess everywhere. My dad would get irritated and we'd start over to create neat stacks in street gutter.   On the weekends, it seemed like everyone in town would light their leaves and the smell of smoke would permeate the neighborhood.  I rather miss those fall days -- all we have today is the constant din of leaf blowers!

Sometimes we'd go with a group of other families to make a day of it to pick apples.  That was always fun - did you see the article in Patch last week,  How About Them Apples?  Provided was a list of local orchards with apples ripe for the picking.

I hope you find this newsletter of interest, feel comfortable forwarding it to your friends, and are open to providing me feedback or ideas for future editions.

Happy Halloween, as well!

In summary: the inventory levels are dropping, while housing prices are...
