PICASSO - Unique Proofs from His Ateliers

Galerie Michael is pleased to announce its current exhibition, showcasing over 50 rare proofs illustrating the unique working relationship Picasso maintained with his printers and their ateliers. Their technical expertise made Picasso's extensive and revolutionary experimentation with the media possible. Many of the works are special proofs which are in-depth collaborations in which Picasso works directly on the plate with the printer.

The theme for this year's Rodeo Drive Concours d´Elegance is "THE BRITISH ARE COMING!" Aston Martin will be this year´s featured marque. The annual Father´s Day tradition features a wide variety of vintage and racing cars and motorcycles lining Rodeo Drive north from Wilshire Boulevard to Santa Monica Boulevard.
As the 2012 featured marque, Aston Martin will be the centerpiece of the 200 block of Rodeo Drive with both new and classic cars. Combining iconic styling, thrilling performance, true craftsmanship and exclusivity, Aston Martin boasts unprecedented breadth and appeal. The marque´s iconic DB5 has been featured in five James Bond films.
The 300 Block of Rodeo Drive will also feature British classic and racing autos including Austin Healy, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, MG, McLaren and Rolls Royce brands. Also, a special British motorcycle area will honor Triumph, Vincent, BSA and Norton.
On the 400 block of Rodeo Drive, this year´s concours will feature "The Best of the Best" with classic cars of any marque considered by the show´s curators. Also on the 400 block, the Rodeo Drive Concours will feature a special tribute to Cobra´s 50th Anniversary. The car show is FREE and open to the public.

Music in the Mansion

The June 17 Music in the Mansion concert will feature Ohtae Kwon on trombone and Jenni Olson on flute. South-Korean-born trombonist Ohtae Kwon earned his Artist Diploma at the USC Thornton School of Music. He is director of music at Antioch Presbyterian Church in Montrose CA.
Jenni Olson is an active orchestral and chamber music performer in the Los Angeles area. She performs regularly with the chamber music ensemble Orion Winds, which she co-founded, and has performed with various orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, New West Symphony, and the Pacific Symphony. She is currently principal flute with the Stockton Symphony and second flute with the Long Beach Symphony and Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra. Jenni earned her BA from California State University, Stanislaus and her MM and DMA from the University of Southern California, where she studied with Jim Walker.

For the first time ever, the Los Angeles Conservancy is coming to Beverly Hills for Last Remaining Seats, a signature series of classic films and live entertainment in historic movie palaces.
The Saban: An Art Deco Jewel
Designed by legendary theatre architect S. Charles Lee, the Saban Theatre opened in 1930 as the Fox Wilshire Theatre. It served as a premiere movie palace for fifty years before its 1981 renovation into a stage venue. The theatre was renamed in 2009 in honor of donors Haim and Cheryl Saban, who helped fund the restoration.

Making the June 30 Last Remaining Seats screening even more special, the feature film - The Wizard of Oz - was selected by Los Angeles Conservancy members as their Fan Favorite film.
