Greetings!
This week's theme is that the City of Leon Valley is open for business. The City Council and staff are working on a number of initiatives related to economic development and bringing businesses to Leon Valley. With the economy's incremental growth, there are signs of change everywhere; some businesses closing and other new businesses are coming into Leon Valley, all a part of the business cycle.
The Leon Valley City Council's next Regular Meeting is scheduled on October 16 beginning at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. There is a special session beginning at 4 p.m. for the conduct of Executive Session interviews with candidates for the City Attorney contract.
Other important matters anticipated to be deliberated and considered for action on October 16 include the development agreement related to the former Fiesta Dodge Property and the Municipal Facility Design Services Contract to provide architectural services for projects identified in the May 2012 Bond Election.
On Monday, October 1, the City Council made two appointments to the LVEDC Board of Directors: Abraham Diaz and Dave Gannon. The City Council formally designated as official newspapers for legal notices: The Daily Commercial Recorder, and The San Antonio Express News. The City Council adopted the NeighborWoods Program as designed by the Tree Advisory Board, and also granted waivers related to vendors during October 19-20 for the commemoration events.
