Greetings!
Cities, like families and businesses, all have a cyclical life and calendar.
In the case of the City of Leon Valley, October 1st marks the beginning of the City's new fiscal year. This year has so many important milestones and holds within it the work for the beginning of so many new opportunities: the installation of monuments marking the City's boundaries; the continuity of the work towards the determination and eventual construction of the new municipal facility as authorized by the City's qualified voters in the May 2012 Bond Election; the continued study and work towards making the Leon Valley Public Library's Children's Wing a reality; and the ongoing enhancements to ensure the critical areas of Economic Development and the City's all-important transportation corridors.
This year also is a moment in time to recognize the City's history, heritage, and rich culture as we approach our 60th year of incorporation as a City and celebrate the historic Huebner-Onion Homestead's 150th Anniversary.
The Leon Valley City Council meets on Monday, October 1 beginning at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. There is a special session beginning at 5 p.m. for the conduct of an Executive Session related to the interviews with applicants for the LVEDC Positions 2, 4, and 6. See the agenda in the attachments below.
We invite you to attend one of the National Night Out Events on Tuesday, October 2nd between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., depending on the location hosting an event near you.
