The Business of Doing Business

Greetings!

In Tuesday's City Council Meeting, the Mayor and City Council viewed a preliminary design and renovation plan for the Historic Huebner-Onion Homestead and the Natural Area Park.  The presentation was made by two architects, Sue Ann Pemberton and Allison Chambers, whose firms have partnered with the Leon Valley Historical Society.  Plans are to update the City Council as the work progresses and the plan becomes more defined.

Three City of Leon Valley employees, Wade Clapper, David Ricks, and Jan Schulz, were recognized for 25 years of service in their respective departments. We're so proud of them.  Their service is deeply appreciated.

In other agenda matters, the City Council adopted two ordinances making appointments and alternate appointments to its boards, committees, and commissions, including the 2012 Bond Program Oversight Committee.  Look for agenda postings as the work of the City of Leon Valley is ongoing.

The City Council adopted a resolution re-scheduling the October 2nd meeting to October 1st so that everyone may participate in National Night Out and still allow the City Council's normal business to proceed.  Start planning your National Night Out activities now and contact Victor Reyes at the Police Department to coordinate those events.

The City Manager will present his Proposed Budget for the next fiscal year on August 7th.
