Mayor & City Council Members Installed |
|
Greetings!
This week's City Council business included Mayor Chris Riley, Council Member Art Reyna, and Council Member Jack Dean, receiving Certificates of Election. The Honorable Judge Larry Noll administered the required oaths of office. Then, Mayor Riley, Councilman Reyna, and Councilman Dean took their places at the dais beginning their respective next term of office.
This was done on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. The City Council then recessed to allow those present to attend a reception honoring Mayor Riley, Councilman Reyna, and Councilman Dean.
In other City Council actions, City Council Members in a long held tradition of the City of Leon Valley elected from amongst its members, a new Mayor Pro Tem who will serve for a one year period beginning June 6. The Mayor and City Council's best wishes and congratulations go to Council Member Kathy Hill as the City's new Mayor Pro Tem.
The City Council also adopted a Resolution approving the City's Preliminary Official Statement pertaining to the sale of obligations designated as "City of Leon Valley, Texas General Obligation Bonds, Series 2012" by competitive bid; complying with the requirements contained in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Rule 15c2-12. This action is in the next series of steps required in connection with the City's successful Bond Election on May 12, 2012.
