Coffee with the Pastor
Triune Mercy Center / July 2012 |
From the pastor:
Our greatest asset at Triune may be our location on the corner of busy Rutherford Street and Stone Avenue. "I pass your church 10 times a week!" we hear quite frequently.
Drivers see walkers, hot and ragged, rather obviously in need. Greenville's haves and have-nots are brought into proximity. And from that proximity come the phone calls, asking if individuals can serve or visit or tour or otherwise get involved. The interest of the Greenville community is our life blood, so we almost always say yes. In fact, we hired a volunteer coordinator expressly to make sure these folks are properly welcomed and taken care of.
Nonetheless, I feel a twinge of regret when I learn that someone was here and I didn't meet him or her. So I would like to invite anyone who is interested to join me for Coffee with the Pastor on Thursday, July 12, at 10 AM. I try to hold these meetings periodically for our congregation, and it occurred to me that those outside our Sunday worship services might be interested as well.
If you would like to come in and have a cup of coffee and chat and ask questions in a relaxed setting, I hope you will do so. At the end, I will offer a tour of the facilities for anyone who wants it.
Just come to the Stone Avenue entrance and someone will direct you to our second floor meeting room. I look forward to talking to you and answering all your questions about Triune.
Blessings,
Deb Richardson-Moore
