Its AP Exam time and we need volunteers!

It can't really be spring unless we see our children cramming for their annual AP exams.  Parents we need your help please.  We need our AP Booster parents to proctor exams the first two weeks in May.  What does this mean?  You can volunteer your time at the Senior High School for several hours to distribute and collect exams, monitor the class for needs and concerns, and honestly, just be an adult in the room.

The exam schedule is below.  If you are able to volunteer for one or more of the exams, please contact Tracy Korschun at: korschun@aol.com.

Carroll AP Booster Club awards over $9000

in classroom enrichment grants!

The funds from your AP Booster membership and donations go to help Carroll students in AP, Pre-AP and honors classes.  This school year, the AP Booster Club awarded $9073.22 in classroom enrichment grants!  Grant money will be used to purchase greatly needed materials for the intermediate, middle and high schools. Some of the highlights of this year's grant funding are: Microscopes, Microscope Slides and a TI Calculator Teacher Kit for the middle school science programs; AP Word History and AP Art History text books for the high schools; and Science DVDs and Math books for the intermediate schools.

In addition to the teacher grants, the AP Boosters give several student scholarships, provide volunteers for AP testing dates, and provide several community programs for Carroll Advanced Academics students and families.

CSHS Junior Devon Land

Wins Cheryl Shankman Study Abroad Scholarship

The Carroll AP Boosters proudly announce that the 2011 winner of the Cheryl Shankman Study Abroad Scholarship is Devon Land.  Devon is a junior at CSHS.  She will be traveling on the 2011 spring trip with AP Art History teacher Tim Johnston to study the art, architecture and culture of Italy.

This scholarship program was created to honor and remember a dear friend, colleague, educational advocate and past AP Booster President Cheryl Shankman. This scholarship program enables recipients to experience other cultures, inside and outside the classroom. In addition to completing the appropriate paperwork and obtaining a teacher recommendation letter, applicants wrote an essay expressing how their own personal experiences have uniquely prepared them for this travel opportunity and exploring what they expect to gain from this opportunity as they continue their education.

Congratulations Devon and Buono Viaggio!
