Gentle Goal Setting for Fibromyalgia & CFS
Tired of setting New Year's resolutions that you never seem to keep? Would you like to learn a gentle way to set - and reach - your goals this year?
Don't worry - you're not alone!
For many of us with fibromyalgia and CFS, it can seem as if setting goals and reaching them only works for healthy people!
Gentle Goal Setting for Fibromyalgia & CFS is a webinar that I'm offering on the third Thursday of every month. In this workshop, you will learn how to set goals that you'll feel like you can actually accomplish - while feeling good about yourself in the process.
I will walk you through the process of choosing an appropriate goal, creating a vision of what that goal looks like, taking stock of where you are right now, then writing down the baby steps.
After the class, you will have a plan of action that will help to pull you towards your goal - and the knowledge you can use this process on any goal you want to reach.
BONUS: All attendees will receive a 1-hour, one-on-one coaching session FREE! ($60 value)

Celebration of Hope: Taking Control of Her Life and Health, Losing the Hot Flashes
 | | Promise of Hope, by Wayne Bricco |
"Until you get your own hope, find some people who you can borrow theirs from.
~ Mary, Why Cherry Blossoms...?
Marla and I share a desire to help women feel better about themselves. I help through coaching; Marla teaches women how to accessorize with jewelry, helping them to feel more beautiful and empowered in the process.
I received this from Marla last month, but we've been working together since this last summer:
"When I first started working with Tami, I needed to lose about 20 or 25 pounds... About two weeks after being on the program, I realized that the hot flashes that I had been experiencing for the last two years were almost non-existent. I was amazed to say the least.
"I know that the program may seem to be about weight loss, but for me it is about so much more. It is about helping me take control of my life and my health and without Tami, I would not have been able to do that.
"Thank you, Tami, for all that you do. for your commitment to helping everyone you meet have a better and healthier lifestyle, for your integrity, but mostly for your guidance and friendship. I know that you really do care."
Do YOU want to take control of your life and health?
Schedule a time for us to chat. Wonder what we'll talk about? See the details here. You can have control again; I can help.

Tip of the Month
| |
This pedometer helped me manage my fibromyalgia!
Back when I was starting to get well, Scott got me this pedometer for my birthday. When I first started off, I was only around 1,500 steps in one day. Slowly, I was able to build up to more.
The awesome software that came with the pedometer was what really helped me manage things. Quite unexpectedly, I might add!
As I downloaded the activity from my pedometer, I could see an unbiased account of my activity. If I was tired and hurting, I could look and see, "Oh gee! I walked 1,000 extra steps today, that would do it!"
The pedometer also helped me plan my activities for the day. I learned how many steps certain activities took - a trip to Costco was about 1,000 - and could plan accordingly.

Fibro Facts

When you have fibromyalgia it is so hard to explain to those around you how you can possibly feel so terrible when you look "just fine."
One of the best resources I've found is an article calledThe Spoon Theory, written by Christine Miserandino.
In this article, she uses spoons to symbolize energy and then uses them as teaching tools to explain to a friend of hers what life is like with a chronic illness. (Lupus, in her case.)
I recently used this exercise -- with actual utensils! -- in a group of people I network with.
I walked them through a normal day for a "spoonie" (a term that those of us who relate to Christine's story have affectionately given ourselves).
As they did each thing for the day, it would cost them energy (a spoon): taking a shower, getting dressed, getting breakfast, etc.
Some people ran out of spoons (energy) after taking a shower but before getting dressed. And YES, this IS sometimes a NORMAL day, isn't it?
It was a powerful way for someone who doesn't have fibro to experience a small taste of it.

Learn the four simple steps to becoming a Health Coach

Would you like to be part of the solution? It's so rewarding helping people transform their lives by helping them change their habits. I would love to show you how easy it is to become a Health Coach.
