Dr. Wendy Rogers
Dr. Wendy Rogers
Our speaker in April for the Portland Area Fibromyalgia - ME/CFS Group was the fabulous Dr. Wendy Rogers. She focused on sharing some of the underlying causes of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as testing that can be done to uncover these issues.

This article includes some of my own experiences, plus my cortisol charts from 2009 and 2011 showing how treatment can help.

Celebration of Hope
"Promise of Hope" by Wayne Bricco
"Promise of Hope" by Wayne Bricco
My good friend Mary said recently:

"Thank you for sharing your story. I know there are many others out there who don't feel there is hope... and until you get your own hope, find some people who you can borrow theirs from." Why Cherry Blossoms...?

Therefore, each month I want to share a client celebration, a Celebration of Hope.

This month, I'm celebrating all the changes that Tamara has made since she started working with me. One of the great things about working with a coach is that you have me to provide an objective perspective when you feel like you're not making any progress.

When you become my client, I give you a health assessment that scores lifestyle, habits, weight, blood results, medical history, family history, etc. After three months together, I asked Tamara to retake it so that we could see how much she had improved. To date, I have never had a client improve as much in three months as Tamara has!

Here's what Tamara had to say after she saw her new, higher score:

"You don't know how much that picked me up and made me feel so much stronger."

She also sent me this:

"...This has not been just a weight loss plan; it is a plan that helps me evaluate all of my lifestyle choices... I have more energy, my overall pain has decreased and my IBS is better controlled than it has been in years...

I feel so much more in control of my eating habits, my health and my life." Read the whole testimonial here.

What's YOUR health assessment score?

Take the assessment here. Then, if you'd like some tips on how to improve your results, schedule a complimentary consultation with me. You can have the same results that Tamara has seen; I can help.

Tip of the Month
Hint Pomegranate-Tangerine Water
Pomegranate-Tangerine Water from Hint
Do you have trouble drinking enough water every day?

I've found a couple tasty options that help me get my 10+ glasses of water a day: Hint water and Ayala's Herbal Water. Both contain no sweeteners of any kind and nothing artificial. Just pure water and a hint of flavor from fruit (Hint) or organic culinary herbs (Ayala's). No carbs, no calories. Just water, but... YUM!

Fibromyalgia Facts
Fibromyalgia tender points
The 18 tender points used to diagnose fibromyalgia.
9 out of 10 people diagnosed with fibromyalgia are women.

7% of all US women have fibromyalgia. That's almost two out of every 25 women you see every day.

Almost 9 in 10 people with fibromyalgia feel they are no longer the person they were before they started living with chronic pain.

The Faces of Fibromyalgia, is a great article put together from a survey done by The American Pain Foundation and the National Fibromyalgia Association.

Learn the four simple steps to becoming a Health Coach

One Health Coach has said our health care system "isn't about health, isn't caring, and isn't a system!" If you have fibromyalgia and spent the typical three+ years with three+ doctors trying to get a diagnosis, you know what they were talking about!

Would you like to be part of the solution? It's so rewarding helping people transform their lives by helping them change their habits. I would love to show you how easy it is to become a Health Coach.
