Is this an indication that Chain property sales may be picking up?
Well, maybe...
A closer look reveals:
The property that sold on Cleghorn Road, on Dake Lake was a bank owned - foreclosure type property and had been on the market for a very, very long time . . .
The listing started at the beginning of 2006 at $995,000. The most recently listing by the bank was for $589,900. It sold in January for $475,000 and is a newer construction home with 80 feet of frontage
on Dake Lake.
Another of the "ice still in" sales was advertised as a short sale on
Bass Lake on the Chain. This one had also been on the market for
a very long time - since mid 2008. The original listing price was
$515,000 with a final listing price of $255,000. The property had
3 bedrooms, 50 feet of water frontage and was in good condition.

This property was originally listed for $774,900, had a final listing price of $669,900 and sold for $650,000.
