Upcoming Worship Services!

Sunday, February 19th - 9 & 11 a.m. "Feeding the Soul" - JUMP Service. Many of us have a need to help those whose lives are more challenging--the homeless, the destitute, and those who have hit a rough patch and just need a little helping hand. Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP) gives us an opportunity to do that work. We feed our need and help to feed the more practical needs of our less fortunate neighbors. Ginger Hobbs and Jean Palmer will speak about JUMP and their personal experience volunteering for this amazing organization on February 19th.
Sunday, February 26th - 9 & 11 a.m.
"The Third Smooth Stone: Ultimate Optimism" This service is the 3rd in a series on the foundational ideas at the core of our faith. How does religious liberalism maintain a hopeful and optimistic outlook without denying the reality of evil? A thorny theological dilemma addressed by theologian James Luther Adams. (Plan to attend the monthly minister's forum on the first Sunday of each month at 3 pm to delve more deeply into these ideas.)

Thank you all for launching the campaign with such style!
Reverend Roberta's sermon "The Love that Makes the World Go Round," about the love that builds and sustains communities, is up on http://www.uusociety.org/Sermons. |

Our Solar Panels Are Generating Power!
Last week, our Society's 102 solar panels were certified to go online and they are now generating electricity back into the grid. Our deepest gratitude to the anonymous donors who made this dream become a reality! Our thanks go out to the solar power advocates who, in the Spring of 2007, created the vision for these panels. And we extend are appreciation to Kirk Herander from Vermont Solar Engineering, David McFeeters, Bob Furrer, and members of the property committee and the solar project team who worked so hard to complete this project.
A formal dedication ceremony will take place in the future. In the mean time, interested folks can check out the power generation in real time by going to the following website: https://enlighten.enphaseenergy.com/public/systems/XEqv53841. A graph allows you to see power generated over different periods of time plus the total power generated to date can be seen at the bottom. So far, we've generated enough power to power 16 homes for 1 day and the produced carbon offset equivalent of nine trees! - Bill West, Board President

A Callout for Sound Engineer Wannabes! We are looking for a few technically interested folks to form a core group to handle the chores of setting up and operating the sanctuary audio system for Sunday services, assemblies, community functions and other events. This is not difficult, but requires an interest in microphones, cables, knob tweaking, sensitivity to the requirements of the moment, and arriving well before an event to assure a smooth operation. Your skill will enhance the experience of all in attendance! If you are interested learning more about becoming a member of this team, please contact Woody Fulton 802-399-2643 or jwfulton63@alumni.cmu.edu. Once we have some interested folks, we'll set a date to meet and learn about this important opportunity. |
