BRAG 2011 Survey Results

The results are in from the BRAG 2011 survey. Thanks to all of you who participated in the survey. We also appreciate all of your suggestions and input and will try to implement as many as possible in our future rides.

Congratulations to the City of Metter for winning "The Best Overnight Town" and to Dublin High School for winning "The Best Overnight Campsite" during BRAG 2011.

Rider of the Month

aaron rogersIt was a cold, windy and wet spring morning when Aaron Rogers completed his first training ride ("Wheels to Heal Bike Ride") in Columbus as a Dream Team nominee in 2007. Despite riding 30 miles in stormy weather, Aaron concluded that he wanted more - because he wanted to be part of the BRAG Dream Team and to ride on BRAG 2007, which started in his hometown of Columbus and ended in Savannah. Four years later, Aaron has completed four BRAG tours (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011) and the extraordinary 2010 Dream Team alumni 800-mile trek on the Underground Railroad Bike Trail, from Mississippi to Ohio!

As a Junior ROTC student in high school, Aaron completed all of the academic and service requirements to qualify for a full ROTC scholarship to Tuskegee University in Alabama where he will enroll this month to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree. His BRAG Dream Team coaches were so impressed by his contributions as an alumni leader that they gave him a laptop computer at the final Dream Team dinner on BRAG 2011. By the way, Aaron not only completed the century in Dublin but he also did a second century in Metter by riding back to the last rest stop to help the remaining Dream Team members get in safely!

Congratulations to Aaron Rogers and Best Wishes in your college career.  Come back and ride with us again.

NBTDA Needs Your Input

The National Bicycle Tour Directors Association is conducting an economic impact survey pilot project.  Because you are a cycling enthusiast, they are asking for your help - and they don't want money.  They need information, in the form of a simple survey, that will provide data on the impact bicycling has on economies at the local, state, and national level.  Please take a moment and complete the survey at http://research.nbtda.com. Thank you.
