On the Fly....
APRIL 2010                                                     Send to a Colleague
Greetings!

Back in early December I must have been bored one Saturday morning and decided to get onto Dentaltown.  There I found the heading "Dental Lab Rant!!!".  As I read the remarks and questions presented by a dentist I felt compelled to respond.  Being my first and only post to Dentaltown I was a newbie at it, but seemed to earn good marks for the response and a few sarcastic and humorous criticisms.  Given the proposed questions and comments stated by the dentist I thought it might be of interest to our readers of On the Fly.  For those soles who care to read the entire 71 posts click the above link, but let's start with the initial comment from Jonathan Abenaim DMD.   Read on...

Cadent iTero
More and more dentists are starting to prefer the anatomical articulation system over the usual brass mountings.  To ensure a proper articulation we have added a couple of new "toys" to the Denar mounting process.
The first item, a pre-mounted stone plate, which is stone added to the plate prior to mounting, lessens the expansion that is found with too much stone between the maxillary and mandibular casts. Second, a maxillary cast support will never give the face bow a chance to "lean" out of place.
These steps will secure our confidence in providing the best product with each and every case. Use the link below to see the entire process of taking the face bow to the mounting.
